Two Wallets, Two Purposes

Google Wallet is Google's payment and passes app: it stores cards for tap-to-pay, plus transit passes, loyalty cards, and tickets, primarily on Android devices. Wallet Hub is a money-management app for iPhone and iPad: it tracks income, expenses, transfers, and subscriptions, and turns your spending into clear analytics. Despite the shared word "wallet," they answer different questions — Google Wallet answers "how do I pay?", Wallet Hub answers "where does my money go?" (Wallet Hub is an independent app, not affiliated with Google — Google Wallet and Google Pay are trademarks of Google LLC.)

What Google Wallet Is For

At a checkout, on a bus, at a boarding gate — Google Wallet is built for the moment of presentation. It makes the physical card unnecessary and keeps passes from getting lost in email. If that is the whole problem you want solved, it solves it well.

The Question Payment Apps Cannot Answer

No payment wallet — Google's or anyone's — is designed to give you a monthly picture of your finances. The tap goes through, and then the information scatters: some purchases in one bank app, some on another card, subscriptions renewing quietly in the background. Knowing what you spent, on what, and what renews next week is a different job that needs a different tool.

What Wallet Hub Does Instead

Wallet Hub is that tool:

  • One timeline for all your money — income, expenses, and transfers across every account and card.
  • Subscriptions under control — a single list of recurring charges with reminders before each renewal.
  • Analytics that explain — categories, weekly trends, income vs spending.
  • Local-first privacy — your records stay on your device; no ads, no data selling.
  • English, Arabic, and Spanish — full localization, including right-to-left Arabic, plus Home Screen widgets.

Can You Use Both?

Absolutely — they do not compete. Many people tap with a payment wallet on one device and manage their money in Wallet Hub on their iPhone. Wallet Hub is currently available for iPhone and iPad on the App Store, with Android coming soon.

Wallet Hub
